Either way a person is manually identifying the identity of the passenger. The only "real" advantage is for a traveler who does not have easy access to a printer. Otherwise making a paper copy or a downloaded pass will accomplish the same, wait on the TSA line for an agent to view the pass and ID. How is this a benefit?
